A minor merchant house in your hometown or a small bandit group might be one point, a thieves' guild or the law enforcement in a sizable city might be three points, and a large and powerful political or military organization would be five. Since you are a member of this organization, you gain access to the grounds belonging to the group as well as any resources which are available to members.
