Inashayle the Mother of Nature is a neutral goddess with dominion over nature and the cycle of growth and decay. She is revered by farmers, naturalists, and sailors. She ushers in the changing seasons, shepherds the clouds, and controls the tides. Droughts, famine, floods, storms, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes are all considered to be manifestations of Inashayle's displeasure.

Family Ties

Inashayle and Ruidrin gave birth to Bendash and Deniss.

Symbol

Inashayle's symbol is the World Tree. It is said to be the starting point of Inashayle's creations; a legendary tree said to link the natural forces of the world together. Its roots deep in the fiery core of the world, its trunk surrounded by the raging sea and towering mountains, and its branches stretching through the skies. The Wilders also bare this symbol as their standard to honor the Mother of Nature.

Inashayle is attributed with creating the natural features of the world out of its raw elements; land, seas, vegetation, and animals.

Description

Inashayle is portrayed as sometimes kind and others harsh, much as nature herself treats mortals. Stories tell of her change of appearance through the seasons. In spring, she is depicted as youthful, clothed in flowers and bright cloths, with blond ringlets. In summer, long greenish hair with streaks of blond, a lightly freckled face, clothed in a tunic made of grass. In autumn, her hair is ringlets of blond, red, and brown, her face dotted with dark freckles, clothed in a velvet dress adorned with fallen leaves. Winter shows her as a middle-aged woman with long, curly, white and blond hair and a thick dress of heavy fabrics. She is always depicted as having rich blue eyes, the color of the sky or the tropical ocean, whose color is unaffected by the seasons. Tales of her visits among mortals depict her with a staff made out of wood said to come from the World Tree.
