Magi or mages are those who can cast magic spells. A character must have the Spellcasting Special Power to make this possible. A mage benefits from a plentiful supply of Magic Points to fuel spells.

Casting requires the use of vocal incantations commonly called aria and complicated gestures using the arms or hands. If deprived the use of either vocals or movement, a mage can still cast, but takes twice as long (double the AP of the spell). If incapable of both speaking and moving, a mage cannot cast.

A mage capable of Focus Casting doesn't need to recite aria nor gesture, but must have his or her focus object to ignore this requirement.
