The mage hurls a visible ripple of sound towards an area. When arriving at destination, this sound wave explodes violently outward like an actual shock wave. The spell affects an area of 5 feet in diameter for every spell rank. The mage makes an Attack Roll using the Magic weapon skill. Creatures within this area receive a chance to Dodge, but cannot Parry (without the Spell Swat trump). All of the damage dealt by this spell is impact. Any creature in this area which takes damage is deafened for the rest of the encounter.
