Similarities

There are several conditions that have similar mechanics, where one must make Stamina checks to avoid dropping down the Knockout Track. Once they fall unconscious, The only thing that differs between them is the starting DL and the frequency of checks.

  • Suffocating – Starts at DL 15 and increases by 1 every round. (lethal)
  • Starving – Starts at DL 10 and increases by 1 every day. (lethal)
  • Dehydrated – Starts at DL 20 and increases by 1 every 12 hours. (lethal)
  • Exposed – Starts at DL ?? and increases by 1 every hour. (lethal)

Should we add these as new conditions? Some creatures are immune to starvation and dehydration, so probably yes. Some creatures are immune to dying from exposure, so probably yes.

Then, there are actions which aren't lethal that follow the same rules.

  • Staying Awake – Starts at DL 10 and increases by 2 every day
  • Forced March – Starts at DL 15 and increases by 1 every hour
  • Forced Jog – Starts at DL 18 and increases by 2 every hour

Stamina Drain is what we call the mechanic of making serial Stamina checks with a gradually rising DL where the failure carries moving down the Knockout Track.
