Okay, I don't care how high your ranks in Perform are, you shouldn't be able to play a piano as well as you can act, or play a violin as well as you can blow into an ocarina. Obviously, ranks in Occupation can figure in here, but I was toying with the idea of imposing a strict penalty on the Perform check (−4?  −8?) if you don't have a relevant Occupation in playing an instrument. ―[[User:Doublecompile|Double Compile]] 12:07, 11 February 2012 (EST)

I feel that Perform is the general skill of performing in front of others, entertaining an audience, selling a character performance, having a stage presence, etc., whereas playing the violin/piano/w/e is a skill specific to an Occupation (e.g. Violinist, or, for a more watered down skill spread across many instruments "Musician"). ―[[User:Kozak|Kozak]] 15:03, 19 February 2012 (EST)
