Gaeis is a campaign setting for the Elysium role playing game. It was originally fathered by Dusty Blottenberger.

Introduction

Somewhere else, there is a place built on the dreams of one man, where men converse with the animals, where trees grow to unfathomable heights in a year, where the land itself is alive with vitality. The water is the purest you will ever drink and the soil the richest you may ever find, and man is not the only native inhabitant. The protectors of the forests perch in the trees, unseen by human eyes. Deep beneath the surface of the waves strange folk dwell in seclusion. Animals of genius intelligence stalk the world, destroying in turn those who would destroy the land. In the mountains, gorgeous statues are suddenly found on the sides of cliffs, where one has trodden only days before. On the borders of the arid plains and deserts, women and children live in fear of horrific slavers from the east. Dreamy lovers embrace each other underneath skies of azure blue, innocent to the passing of beings high above them.

Welcome to Gaeis. It is a land built of magic, where anything is possible. Attend the wizard schools and harness the forces of magic, if the dragon blood is in you; attempt to befriend the Sidhe, if you can brave the forests; search out the ancient dragons, if you like studying thousands-year-old lore; or sail to the ends of the earth and find uncharted seas and places. Not even the inhabitants of Gaeis know all that Gaeis holds. So welcome, lodgers, to this Elysium.

Enjoy your stay.

Gaeis is actually the name of a planet, located somewhere far from our own. Gaeis herself is perhaps the largest form of life in creation, as the planet itself possesses sentience. The will of Gaeis can stir oceans, shroud the world in gloom, and cause cities to crumble. Civilization there finds itself rooted in a number of city-states, each as different as the next, and more than humans call Gaeis their home.
