Cult of "Personality"

Since you brought this up the other day, I figured I'd share my thoughts. We can either change the Attribute, or we can change the aspect of character description.

Some possible choices for changing the stat:

  • "Charisma"
  • "Rapport"
  • "Kinship"
  • "Chemistry"
  • "Pathos"
  • "Charm" (ill advised as it is a Spell School, unless we change the name of the spell school)
  • "Magnetism"
  • "Attraction"
  • "Appeal"
  • "Allure"
  • "Draw"
  • "Glamor"
  • "Pull"
  • "Interest"

Possibilities for changing the descriptor:

  • "Nature"
  • "Demeanor" (White Wolf uses both of these in Vampire, or at least they did)
  • "Guise"
  • "Mood" (Bad choice since we note Mood as an Element of Story)
  • "Face"
  • "Attitude"
  • "Frame"
  • "Aspect"
  • "Aura" (may or may not work well with the concept of auras in spells)
  • "Description" (much more literal and straightforward; requires explanation, but may work)

In looking at these lists of possibilities, I feel like I'd rather change the stat. We have too many "P"'s there anyway. Let me know what you think. If we were to go with something like "Draw" or "Magnetism" or "Charisma" I could almost see moving Seduce to be most commonly associated with it.

I exploit you, still you love me! I tell you 1 and 1 makes 3! I read over both of these lists. I'll be honest, my first gut reaction was that I fell in love with "Attitude" in changing the description, but we can certainly discuss the whole thing on Thursday. Nice work here compiling these lists. ―Double Compile 22:45, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
