An elephant-headed people who are known for their sagacity and wisdom.

Appearance

Ginsha possess heads with a trunk, two short tusks, large, fanned ears, and scant dark hair, which is usually braided and worn down their back. In this way, they resemble elephants, but the rest of their bodies resemble humans. The skin of the Ginsha is coarse ranging from ashen in color to a deep bluish-gray.

Personality

Ginsha are naturally skeptical and possess a strong memory, which together with their long life-spans allows them to assemble much in the way of scholarly knowledge and scientific pursuits. They are disdainful of the abuse of violence and power and prefer to outsmart and outlast their opponents. They are slightly vain and prefer to dress in fine clothes and jewelry.

Habitat

The Ginsha make their ancestral home in the city of Book, a city they themselves established long ago. Ginsha can also be found nearly anywhere in the world, including in the floating kingdoms of the Vayu but abstain from dealing much with the cities of Zjenahd, Cydonya, Threshold, and Machera due to those cities' penchant for imperialism, violence, and deceit. During the Triadan Civil War many Ginsha left the city of Rune, appalled by the dissolution they saw there and brought what knowledge they could with them. At the time they were considered betrayers and abandoners. Now they are recognized as the only ones who truly understood the inevitable fall of that era.

Society

Ginsha prefer quiet pursuits, regularly engaging in meditation and armchair philosophy. Debate and argumentation are passions of the Ginsha, and while they are adept at penetrating the vicissitudes of political life, they scorn the practice of it. Ginsha are renowned authors and sages and strive to preserve the history of the world.

Adventurers

Repossession of an important tome stolen from The Paper Garden, a plot to undermine the expansion of a hostile force, or a quest to unearth the secrets of The Lost City would all provide great adventures for a Ginsha.
