Ethnicity: | Human |
Opponents: | Blue Wood Witches |
Callsign: | The Blue Witch |
Personality: | Kind |
Appearance
Triste does her best to avoid being seen. Since she is an exile of her old coven and a dangerous character to boot, it is in her best interests to keep a low profile. So, naturally, she dresses in a pointy blue hat, revealing blue skirts, carries a eldritch staff and a crystal ball used for Seeing. Her age appears to fluctuate greatly in tales of her, from very young to very old. She has a quiet, tragic sort of beauty and curly brown hair. It is said that in her eyes one can glimpse the reflection of the sun on the sea and she smells of salt and sand.
Personality
Triste is a generally kind, though powerful and serious witch, and many who have met her (whether they knew it was her or not) have remarked that she seems slightly sad. Having been nearly everywhere in the Otherworld, she serves as a great guide, and she still takes great pleasure in traveling. Time changes places, after all, and many places seem new with the passing of time. If her many stories are true, and if historical accountings of her are true, then she is old indeed.
Background
It is rumored that some time ago beyond remembrance, the number of the Witches of the Blue Wood Coven numbered six. Somehow there arose a great argument, and one of their number left, never again to return. This witch was Triste, the Blue Witch. Since that time she has travelled the breadth of Jaeis and taken a hand in many affairs.
At some point, perhaps when she left her coven-sisters, or after, or perhaps before, Triste fell victim to a curse. Triste is immortal, and progresses first forward through age from infant to elderly, then backwards again to infant and so on back to elderly again, etc. The truly horrific aspect of the curse is that this progression and regression takes place rapidly. Because of this, she often enlists the aid of caretakers to see her through her tough periods and ensure she comes to no harm.
