After The Reborn was destroyed, and the Floodwaltzer Armor sundered, a woman known as Lord Pierce began to steal the pieces of the armor for use in a ritual which would, she believed, effectively make her a god. The Band of the Spire stopped her, however, with a relic found in the desolation of Rune. The resultant unstable magics destroyed all of Spire with the exception of the Spire itself. Since Lord Pierce had claimed the city as a military outpost, the majority of the city's populace had already been expelled before the disaster took place. When residents returned to their homes, they found nothing: no rubble, no debris, no broken reminders of their old life. It was as if the city never existed. Grimly, the people soon set to rebuilding the city, which stands boldly to this day.
