The Monster section is intended to be a list of baddies for players to fight. Whether actual monsters, animals, bugs, or real people, this is just a good collection of them.

Behemoth
Huge, tusked beast which shakes the earth with each step it takes, easily capable of crushing a horse.
Blackbeak
Large birds which resemble an ostrich/dodo with a large beak. Incapable of flight, but possess powerful legs and small wings which allow them to jump great distances and touch down lightly.
Bullhound
Ill tempered dogs with large horns and a vicious bite.
Buzzkunk
Large buzzing insects, about as big as a small dog, which emit a noxious gas when agitated and attack with a wicked stinger.
Clone
Genetically engineered duplicates, created with the aid of magic.
Devil-monkey
Pesky little simian with eight legs, a tail, eight creepy eyes and poisonous mandibles.
Devourer
A monster which preys on mana and mages.
Dolon
The humanoid spirit of a dead being, which is tied either to the decaying physical body of its former life. Dolons usually seek out disguises to hide their decaying state, covering themselves in armor, rags, etc.
Doormen
These beings resemble a hooded humanoid with a ruin of a face which is spotted with many eyes staring from within the folds of its robes. Their hands are made of chitinous pincher-like digits. They stand on two legs and have a mouth, but no nose.
Drake
Large flying reptile with four taloned legs and a powerful maw set at the end of a long, flexible neck. Useful as mounts.
Esper
A parasitic creature which feeds off of the bio-electric life energy of living beings. After subduing a victim, it drains that person's memories and energy, sometimes feeding until the host dies, at which point it too rises as an Esper, hungry for life. Espers resemble their host bodies in most ways, save that their eyes seem to glow and their voice sounds far-away and garbled, like static electricity. A victim of an Esper attack will show shallow burns from where the Esper fed.
Forsaken
Small demons which take the form of children in order to practice their evil under the pretext of innocence.
Gallows-bird
These huge carrion beasts were once small, harmless scavengers who fed on the hanged criminals swinging from the gibbets, but soon enough outgrew their food supply and began attacking live victims.
Goarer
Mainly found in Bosemya, these are extremely intelligent, shaggy, yet dangerous beasts which make good mounts or beasts of burden, provided they don't get too angry...
Goblyn
Crafty little buggers with sharp, mathematical minds and funny noses.
Green Man
A Green Man is a murderous embodiment of the planet Gaeis which seeks to infiltrate civilized areas and assassinate important or powerful beings. They dress in clothing which easily conceals the fact that they are a writhing mass of vines, thorns and vegetation. Often they will kill a being and wear its skin in disguise.
Griff
Carnivorous, foul-tempered avians with a leonine body which is covered in scales, a curled tail and an eagle or falcon head which is adorned with a mane and mohawk-like crest in the males of the species.
Grinder
A beast of the wilds which sharpens its many teeth by chomping and grinding down trees.
Gyr Spirit
A spirit capable of possessing mechanical constructs and making them go haywire or become stronger.
Hag
Demon-women who have sold their souls and beauty in exchange for a limited magical ability.
Harvest Demon
A small jackolantern which has been enchanted to be intent on eating people instead of the other way around.
Helmyr
Hideous aberrations of life, Helmyr were once proud knights. Now, their mouths and eye sockets are full of jagged teeth and their three eyes are found in their hands and neck. Helmyr hate all forms of life, stalking and murdering anyone they can isolate or overwhelm. They still wear the ancient armor and swords of their former lives.
Human
Versatile creatures who easily adapt to many situations and climes.
Ice Worm
Gigantic creature with a thick, rubbery skin and terrifying pit of a face. Ice Worms dwell on the tundra and are extremely territorial. The worm swims underneath its victims and breaks through the ice on which they stand or slithers along the surface.
Kirin
A slightly oversized-goat-like creature resembling an Ibex with iridescent scales and two long horns.
Kite
Colorful shrieking pterosaurs resembling herons. They are often used as mounts by some cultures.
Koh-ri

The ultimate survivalists, hunters and killers nonpareil, the walkers of the tundra.

Kraken
An underwater terror resembling an octopus or squid with ten venomous tentacles.
Leviathan
A sea-serpent of colossal proportions, sowing terror and destruction with every flick of the tail.
Lindorm
Long, serpentine, wingless Drakes which instead have eight legs to help propel it quickly over the land.
Merfolk
Serpentine creatures with vaguely humanoid bodies which swim about under the seas and desire the riches of surface beings.
Mournhound
Large black dogs whose mournful cry is rumored to chill or still the heart of any being who hears it.
Nyx
Gaunt, eerie-looking beings shunned and feared by small-minded folks.
Oni
A red-skinned demon with a wild shock of hair and appetite for bloody violence, sworn enemy of the Tuorn.
Pookah
Notorious shapeshifters, wanderers and tricksters.
Reciprocant
A mechanical construct designed to exactly replicate humans in every way, including appearance.
Reptis
Huge constricting snake with a catlike face and frills near the ears. Repti secrete a mucus which burns the skin and poisons the blood.
Rorsinal
Large bearlike creatures with a long, barbed tongue, capable of ensnaring a human-sized meal.
Scarecrow
A primitive construct of straw, wood, and other simple materials, which is animated by magic and seeks to spread fear and panic.
Scrat
Rodents of an unusual size covered in razor-sharp spines.
Sere-tree
Sere-trees are the sentient embodiment of the extreme defensive aspect of the planet Gaeis. Actually a malevolent, free-roaming spirit, a Sere can take possession of any tree and cause it to lash about with their stout branches and trip and grapple their opponents with flailing roots. The only way to destroy a Sere is to kill the tree it is possessing. Sere-trees are sometimes found in whole groves.
Shellbacked Ogon
Resembling apes with chitinous plates protecting their back. Capable of rolling up like a bug to protect themselves from harm.
Sidhe
Mysterious, adamant protectors of the forest.

Strife Spirit
A spirit which takes the form of a person or item which is strongly lusted after in order to sow disorder and dissent.
Titan
A race of giant, thirty-foot humans from an island far, far to the west.
Trowl
Hulking, horned mountain-dwellers who roam the hills of the world, singing songs which shake the earth.
Vampyre
A winged demonic beast with a face, set of horns, and clawed hands made of bone-like plates which make it particularly resilient to attack. The vampyre feeds on the meat, blood and gore of other beings.
Vayu
Whimsical and moody, these creatures migrate around the world in floating cities, searching out the perfection of the Arts.
Wardrone
Mechanical soldiers, ranging in size from very small to colossal. They are primarily humanoid in appearance, although depending on function, they can be vastly different and outfitted with any number of tools, weapons, and implements.
Watchbirds
Small, bat-winged animals resembled a flying eye-ball with a fleshy body, many tiny, clawed feet, and a whip-like tail. Watchbirds are the pilferers of the strange animal world of Gaeis, stealing junk and jewels alike. If they spy an item they are fond of, they will follow the owner for leagues in a bid to seize it. If agitated, or prevented from obtaining a prize item, they will attack, using their claws and tail. They sometimes attack in packs, but often squabble over the spoils. Watchbirds feed on bugs and are widely domesticated.
Weren
Weren are powerful, violent animals who can assume a human shape in order to cause havoc and disorder in the human world. Their human form takes on features which are still vaguely reminiscent of an animal: pig-nose, beak-like nose, long nails, large canines, pointed ears, buck-teeth, etc.

Ziz
A predatory bird of epic proportions and a ferocious appetite.
Zjenithi
Ruthless, four-eyed slavers who carve treacherous empires from blood and sand.
