Some might say a life of servitude is cruel. Those people have never met a Boggan. When the humans appeared on Gaeis so many ages ago, the Boggans were at their side. When the humans war with each other, the Boggans are at their side. When a human is hungry and wants dinner, damn it, Boggans are at their side. The Boggans are a race held by their word and long ago they swore their lives to service of humans, but for the repayment of what boon, no one knows. And they aren’t telling. In the meantime they’ll work hard, make no promises, and accept no failure.

Appearance

Boggans are little folk, being about half as tall as a human, and a little stouter or stockier in build. Beyond this, the only distinctive feature that sets them apart are their large, wide mouths, capable of opening extra wide to feed their voracious appetites. A feature which endears them to softhearted folk are their large, almond shaped eyes, which appear much like a cat’s, sans the slitted pupil.

Personality

Boggans are devoted servants by nature, and many of them are content to live out their lives in service to their patron human families. Every Boggan family is pledged eternally to serve a patron human one, and how the human families abuse or respect this privilege varies widely. As per their own affairs, Boggans take extreme pride in their professions and hobbies, and underachievers or slackers are shunned, while good work receives high praise, and rich reward.

Habitat

Boggans can live in any climate or area, and as they serve the human families, they are almost always provided for somehow by their patrons. Many human houses also have a Boggan servants’ quarters.

Society

Boggans live primarily in human communities, but also appreciate most, out of the other races, the company of Pookah, so long as the shapeshifters don’t interfere with their work.

Powers

  • Busy Little Monsters: Boggans receive profession or occupation skill ranks for half as many experience.
  • You Must Be This Tall to Ride: Boggans, because of their small stature, cannot ride horses effectively (though ponies or donkeys serve just fine) and cannot wield certain large or difficult weapons with ease. For instance, a human scythe would be too much for a Boggan, but if one were constructed Boggan-size, that would be just fine.
